 Perform Your Kata as if You were in a Fight


1. Focus on Speed Not Muscle!

    Force = Mass X Acceleration


(Mass = Hip and Elbows connected to Body)

(Acceleration =Change in Speed Squared)

       

2. Fo-hi-ha:

   a. Place your Base Foot, then

   b. Engage Your Hip, then

   c. Your Hands

No Foot Spins in Self Defense!


3. Hidden-Hand Applications

 - Hikite: What is in your Pulling Hand? 

 - Punch/Kick = Block = Throw

 - Kata Turns = Grappling Throw/Break


4. Kata counts may be Combined for

  Effective Applications

(Naihanchi Cross-Over Steps are for Throws/Breaks)
